THE?TEAMS: Alabama (11-1, 7-1 SEC) is the Western Division Champion and the visiting team. Georgia (11-1, 7-1 SEC) is the Eastern Division Champion and the home team.

NATIONAL?RANKINGS:? Alabama and Georgia come into the game as the second and third ranked teams, respectively, in the Associated Press, Harris Interactive and USA?Today polls.

SEC?CHAMPIONSHIP?GAME: The game, which started in 1992, is in its 21st year. It was a result of conference expansion, which saw Arkansas and South Carolina become the first members added in SEC?history. Almost 1.5 million fans have witnessed the pageantry of the game first-hand, with 17 sellouts in its history. The first two games were played at Legion Field in Birmingham and the game has been played at the Georgia Dome since (1994).

SEC?CHAMPIONS: Georgia will be vying for its 13th SEC Championship and first since 2005. Alabama is attempting to win its 23rd SEC title and first since 2009. Georgia's Mark Richt has won two SEC championships (2002; 2005) while Nick Saban has won three SEC titles, two at LSU?(2001-03) and one at Alabama (2009).

TELEVISION: CBS?Sports will televise the game nationally for the ninth straight year (VERNE?LUNDQUIST, Play-by-Play; GARY?DANIELSON, Analyst; TRACY WOLFSON, Sidelines). CBS?has aired the game nationally since 2001. ABC?Sports televised the game from 1992-2000.

TV?RATINGS: Last season's SEC Championship game between Georgia and LSU drew a 7.3 rating. The 2009 game between Florida and Alabama, became the highest rated SEC title game earning a national household rating/share of 11.1/23. The 1994 SEC Championship Game was the previous high with a 10.5/26.

RADIO: Managed by IMG College, the SEC?Radio Network will broadcast the game to the 11-state SEC region and around the nation on the Dial Global Sports Radio Network (SEC?Radio Network: DAVE?NEAL, Play-by-Play; DAVE?ARCHER, Analyst; DAVE?BAKER, Sidelines / Dial Global Sports Radio: JOHN?TAUTGES, Play-by-Play; TERRY?DONAHUE, Analyst). FULL?HOUSE: The previous 20 SEC Football Championship Games have a total accumulated attendance of 1,491,391. The 18 games in the Georgia Dome have attracted 1,336,955 fans. The 74,275 average is 103.2 percent of capacity in the 72,000-seat stadium. 17 of the 20 games have been sold out, including the last 12 contests.

SERIES: Alabama leads series with Georgia, 36-25-4. The teams last met in 2008 in Athens, with Alabama winning, 41-30. The Bulldogs won the last meeting in Tuscaloosa in 2007, 26-23, in overtime. The last time a meeting of the two was not on campus was in 1984, when Georgia took a 24-14 decision in Birmingham. 22 of the 65 meetings have been decided by 7 points or less.

IN?THE?SEC?CHAMPIONSHIP?GAME: This marks Alabama's eighth appearance and Georgia's fifth in the contest. It is the first time the two teams have played in the SEC Championship Game. The Bulldogs are 2-2 while the Tide are 3-4 in the game. Georgia was last in the game last season (lost to LSU, 42-10) while Alabama's last appearance in the game was in 2009 (def. Florida, 32-13).

BOWLING: The winner of the SEC Championship Game receives the conference's automatic berth in the Bowl Championship Series. Alabama is 2-2 in BCS bowl games, including 2-0 in BCS National Championships contests. The Tide was in the BCS National Championship Game last year, defeating LSU, 21-0. Alabama is 34-22-3 all-time in bowl games.

Georgia is 2-1 in BCS bowl games with its last BCS game being the 2008 Sugar Bowl (2007 season), defeating Hawaii, 41-10. Georgia is 26-18-3 all-time in bowl games.
