It was a dismal sight. A nearly empty Commonwealth Stadium, or so it seemed, for the the Vandy game last weekend.
Joker said when he walked out on Saturday, he knew his fate was sealed.
But it might have been even worse than people thought.
The announced attendance for the game was over 40,000. That's the amount of tickets sold, but that's certainly not how many fans were in the stands. Through an open records request, LEX 18 obtained the actual number of people at the game based on tickets scanned. That number is 18,885.
In a season where there was a lot of talk about how small the crowds are, I'm not sure anyone could have predicted a day when Commonwealth Stadium had less than 20,000 fans there.
