There was no change at the top of the most recent AP girls' and boys' basketball poll.

Trinity remained on top of the boys' rankings, and Marion County stayed perched on top of the girls' poll.

Ballard and Bullitt East flip-flopped positions in the boys' rankings, with Bullitt East moving up to No. 2

Madison Central stayed put at No. 4. The Indians picked up wins over Tates Creek (83-51) and Fleming County (85-72) last week. Madison Central will have its mettle tested in the coming week with a Jan. 29 game against No. 8 Henry Clay and top-ranked Trinity on the schedule for Feb. 1.

Speaking of the Blue Devils, after peaking at No. 2 two weeks ago, Henry Clay fell three more spots from fifth to eighth in the wake of Friday's 65-64 loss to Lafayette. The Devils rebounded the next night, pummelling Southwestern 90-64.

Scott County pounded Franklin County 81-49 on Jan. 22 and sat idle the rest of the week. The Cards crept up one spot to No. 9.

Montgomery County (19-4) got some attention from the voters, but not enough to break into the top-10. The Indians played No. 1 Trinity tough, but fell 66-55 after a layoff of a week.

Undefeated Marion County continues to dominate the girls' poll, firmly ensconced in the top-spot.

With just one early-season loss to Bryan Station, Anderson County continues to chase the Lady Knights. After avenging that loss to the Defender with a convincing 65-45 victory on Jan. 22, the Lady Bearcats followed up with a 64-31 thumping of Collins.

Madison Central also held steady at No. 5. The Lady Indians picked up a 61-43 win over Woodford County, followed by a 63-44 victory over Rockcastle County.

Madison Central will face Clay County on Jan. 31. The Lady Tigers fell out of the top-10 despite picking up two more wins to improve to 19-4. Clay County knocked off Lexington Catholic 51-29 and also crushed Barbourville 73-39.
