A big part of UK's 1998 NCAA Championship team is going home.

The Chicago Bulls announced they have signed free agent center Nazr Mohammed.

The native of Chicago is a 14-year NBA veteran. Last season, the 6-foot-10 inch 250 pounder was a backup with Oklahoma City. He averaged 2.7 points and rebounds in 11 minutes per game.

Nazr has also played for Charlotte Bobcats (2007-10), Detroit (2006-08), San Antonio (2004-06), New York (2003-05), Atlanta Hawks (2000-04) and the Philadelphia 76ers (1998-01).

In 834 career games, mostly as a backup, he's averaged 6.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg and 0.69 bpg in 17.4 mpg.

Nazr was drafted by the Utah Jazz in the first round (29th overall) of the 1998 NBA Draft. The 35-year old has been a member of eight playoff teams, including the 2005 NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs.
