Steve Parker was going to Canton, Ohio because his guy, Dermontti Dawson is going in the Hall of Fame.

The former Bryan Station football coach was shocked when the former UK and Pittsburgh Steelers center asked him to be his presenter for his induction on August 4.

"The reason I chose Coach Parker as my presenter was because I never would have played football if it weren't for him," Dawson said. "Coach Parker came up to me in the hallway, I think in the beginning of my junior year and just put his arm on my shoulder and said, 'Son, where have you been all my life?' He taught me about hard work and dedication."

"I was very emotional when Dermontti asked me," says Parker. "It wasn't something I expected."

Deciding who will serve as your presenter can be a very difficult decision.

The presenters for this year's class include a father, two sons, a former pro coach, a high school coach, and the widow of a longtime friend and agent.

Jack Butler, Chris Doleman, Cortez Kennedy, Curtis Martin, and Willie Roaf will join the Dawson going into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 4th at 7pm.
