The same problem they battled all season doomed Kentucky against Georgia. In the wake of losing 44-31 to the Dawgs, the Cats are back to saying most of the same things True Blue fans have heard discussed the past few Octobers.

Another slow start - The Cats trailed Georgia 28-3 late in the first half - was too much for Kentucky to overcome. As quick as the talk started about a possible run at first place in the wide-open SEC East, Kentucky is back to talking about salvaging their season and working to gain bowl eligibility.

"One of the things we talked about is starting fast and playing the first half. Well, you come in at halftime and you're like "we've been here before." Joker Phillips said.

If Kentucky could have won out, something that was not entirely hard to conceive, considering their schedule coming down the stretch, they would have had a chance at an SEC East championship.

"The East is pretty much out of reach, quarterback Mike Hartline conceded after the game. "Now we're fighting for our best bowl game. Six is our number and then from there to the best one after that."

Exactly how to go about doing it is the part that the Cats had trouble explaining after the loss.

"We just haven't exactly found out what we have to do and that's just us going back and we got to find a way. that's what it comes down to, finding a way," Randall Cobb said.

Senior defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin may have summed it up best, at least in the minds of frustrated True Blue Fans.

"We just have to stop being Kentucky and shooting ourselves in the foot," he said.

Kentucky hits the road next for an Oct 30 matchup at Mississippi State.
